The Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association selected new officers at its summer Executive Board Meeting on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
Nate Kessen of Sugar Grove, President-Elect from 2019-2022, will serve as President for the next two years. Kessen, a 2022 Hall of Fame Inductee, was 2021 IWCOA Man of the Year and has served as Membership Chairman for the past eight years. In addition to serving as President, Kessen will take a spot as a member of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
Rob Porter from Naperville was elected as President-Elect. Porter has served the IWCOA as Secretary since 2019 and was named IWCOA Man of the Year and Board Member of the Year in 2022. He served as the Committee Chairman for the highly successful IWCOA State Open. Rob will serve a one-year term as President-Elect and is eligible for re-election in 2023.
Tony Clarke of Zion was elected Secretary. Tony, a Hall of Fame Official, has served as Officials Development Chair and is a member of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee and serves on the National Federation of High Schools rules committee. He will serve a one-year term and is eligible for re-election in 2023.
Joe Cliffe, Fairbury, was re-elected as Treasurer. A Hall of Fame Member and Past-President, he has served as Treasurer of the IWCOA since 2007. He will serve a one-year term and is eligible for re-election in 2023. Cliffe also serves as Chairman of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee and is a member of the Board of the National High School Athletic Coaches Association.
