Steve Bay
Waukegan

Steve Bay was born in Tuscola, IL and graduated from Waukegan High School in 1963. He also wrestled for his Hall of Fame father, Ott Bay. He was the first freshman in Waukegan history to qualify for the state tournament. He was injured his sophomore year. In his junior year, Steve was 30-0 during the regular season, but was diagnosed with mononucleosis the week of the state meet and lost in the second round. As captain in his senior year of the State Championship team he went 34-0 and won the state championship at 138 lbs. Steve never gave up a takedown during his final two seasons of high school wrestling. A two-year varsity football starter, Steve was named honorable mention All-State defensive end and fullback. 2006 I.W.C.O.A. Hall of Fame Inductees

Although he spent less than a year in college, Steve finished 4th in both the Wilkes-Barre Open and Great Plains Tournaments while wrestling at Indiana State University. He later served in the Air Force. Steve will be inducted with his brother, Mike, and joins his father, and brother, Rick, in the I.W.C.O.A. Hall of Fame.
