Bill Rumchak

A 1962 graduate of Lockport High School, Bill Rumchak wrestled four years for Hall of Famer Bill Zimmer. He was four year wrestler at Illinois State University and earned his degree in 1967. In 1967, Bill began his coaching career at Palatine High School as an assistant. In 1970 he became the Head Coach at Lockport West High School, which became Romeoville High School. During the period from 1970-1974, Bill's teams had a dual meet record of 47-37-1. When Bolingbrook High School opened in 1975, Bill became the head coach. He was the coach there until his retirement in 2000. His teams had a dual meet record of 267-244-12 during his tenure. Bill coached 27 state qualifiers, 14 state place winners and three state champions.
In 1976, Bill coached the Illinois exchange team that traveled to Romania to compete against various junior and senior Romanian club teams.
