Kirk Mammen
Urbana/Oklahoma State University
A 1987 graduate of Urbana High School, Kirk Mammen was a two-time State Champion. In 1987 he was named I.W.C.O.A. Class AA Wrestler of the Year. His high school career record was 145-12. His high school coach was his father, Wayne Mammen (a 1991 I.W.C.O.A. Hall of Fame Inductee). He was a two-time State Freestyle Champion and in 1987 won the State Greco-Roman Title. In 1986 Kirk placed 4th at the National Junior Freestyle and he placed 6th at the Junior Freestyle in 1987. Kirk competed in Illinois and Pittsburgh Classic (National) All-star meets and he is a member of Urbana High School Hall of Fame.
Kirk attended Oklahoma State University and became a four time NCAA Division I All-American (only the seventh wrestler in Oklahoma State University's history). He was also a four time All-Big 8 selection. He is in the top fifteen in OSU career wins with 118.
In 1990 he won the National Freestyle University Division Championships at 286 lb.. He was fourth place at the Espoir Freestyle National tournament and 6th place at the U.S. Open National Freestyle Tournament in 1988. He was a member of two Division I NCAA Championship Teams (1989 & 1990). He competed in the NCAA East/West All-star Meet.
