WEST SUBURBAN CONFERENCE

Morton and host Addison Trail went toe-to-toe at this year’s West Suburban Conference tournament, with Addison Trail edging Morton 133-126.5 for the team title.

Glenbard West was a close third with 117 points in Addison.

Addison Trail coach Anthony Metallo sent four girls to the title mat and got an individual title from Brithany Mondragon (17-3 at 135) to spearhead the team win.

The Blazers got second-place finishes from Isabella Datil (14-5 at 105), Evolet Mata (21-5 at 125) and Drea Lazzara (16-9 at 130), thirds from Melina Valdez (21-8 at 100) and Sylvia Lupa (24-4 at 170), and a fourth from Madeline Beltran (10-4 at 190).

Addison Trail led the field with 18 pins, followed by Morton with 17.

York and Willowbrook tied for placed fourth with 107 points, followed by Downers Grove South (97), Lyons (95.5), Downers Grove North (89.5), Oak Park and River Forest (71.5), Hinsdale South (66.5) Leyden (54.5), Proviso West (31), Proviso East (15), Hinsdale Central (7).

INTERSTATE EIGHT CONFERENCE

LaSalle-Peru coach Nolan Keeney’s girls took this year’s Interstate 8 crown at host Ottawa, winning 161-126 over Ottawa thanks to five individual champions among 10 wrestlers finishing in the top four of their weight classes.

Winning titles for the Lady Cavaliers were Kalista Frost (100), Emily Lowery (115), Kiely Domyancich (125), Audri Plut (145) and Marisa Eggersdorfer (155). Placing second were Sarah Lowery (110), Talia Pantoja (120), Emma Tomlinson (130) and Avalyn Edwall (140), and LaSalle-Peru got a third from Lily Higgins (235). Also placing as non-scoring wrestlers were Tegan Sebastian (2nd at 115) and Clare Domyancich (4th at 135).

Keeney’s team also led the field with 12 pins.
Kaneland (103.5) placed third at this year’s I-8 tournament, followed by Sycamore (88.5), Morris (77) and Rochelle (12).

SOUTH SUBURBAN CONFERENCE

Oak Forest topped the field for the fourth consecutive season at this year’s South Suburban Conference tournament, winning 165-148 over Oak Lawn. Coach Jamie Hubbard got individual titles from Alex Sebek (24-0 at 105), Sophia Orcasitas (25-6 at 110), Rain Scott (12-1 at 125) and Lyobosa Odiase (25-2 at 145).
The Bengals also got a second-place finish from Alyssa Lewis (2-1 at 100), and a third from Brooklyn Strelow (25-8 at 130).

Oak Forest led the field in pins (20) and total match points (166), and tied with Eisenhower for the most tech falls with two.

Host Shepard (116) placed third, followed by Tinley Park (106.5), Hillcrest (96.5), Thornton Fractional South (84.5), Reavis (82), Evergreen Park (73), Eisenhower (62), Bremen (49), Lemont (46.5), Argo (29.5), Thornton Fractional North (27), and Richards (7).
