3A Regional recaps feeding the Edwardsville Individual Sectional: Rich Township, Moline, Minooka, Normal Community

RICH TOWNSHIP REGIONAL
A heated battle between Lincoln-Way programs played out at Rich Township on Saturday. When it was over, Lincoln-Way West had won it’s 10th regional title for coach Brian Glynn.
Lincoln-Way West topped Lincoln-Way Central 191.5-180.5, with Lincoln-Way East in third with 172 points.
Nine of Glynn’s wrestlers reached the regional championship mat, with two winninng titles in Charlie Strezo (120) and Max Herman (165). Second-place finishers included Michael Scott (106), Kellan Hack (113), Carter DiBenedetto (126), Brady Glynn (132), Shane Stream (138), Jack Strezo (144), Evan Gutierrez (157) and Jimmy talley (215).
Lincoln-Way West won six team regional titles in 2A and has now won four in 3A.
Andrew (113.5) placed fourth, followed by Homewood-Flossmoor (107.5), Bradley-Bourbonnais (83), Rich Township (56.5) and Bloom Township.
Lincoln-Way Central had 10 sectional qualifiers, led by regional champions Jalen Byrd (175), Evan Vogt (190) and Aiden Hennings (285). Lincoln-Way East had seven qualifiers and four champions in Dino Dajani (113), Kaidge Richardson (144), Max Mularz (157) and Justin Powers (215).
Fourth-place Andrew advanced four and got a regional title from Nadeem Haleem (138). Homewood-Flossmoor advanced five, led by regional champs Chazz Robinson (126), Ethan Hamilton (132) and Henry Maier (150).
Bradley-Bourbonnais’ Cullen Parks (106) won a title to lead four Boilermakers to the sectional, and Rich Township had two sectional qualifiers.

MOLINE REGIONAL
Yorkville won its fifth straight team regional title and its 22nd in program history in dominant fashion for coach Jake Oster, with a stampede of eight regional champions leading a charge of 12 sectional qualifiers.
Winning regional titles for Yorkville were Landon Jenkins (120), Nathan Craft (132), Donovan Rosauer (150), Donncha Souza (157), Max Delgado (165), Caleb Viscogliosi (175), Brock Janeczko (190), and Xavion Ulloa (285).
The Foxes got second-place finishes from sectional qualifiers Leo Richmond (106), Ramsey Barton (126) and Vincent Konecki (144), and a third from Nolan Chrisse (138).
Yorkville posted 244.5 points, followed by Plainfield North (148), Bolingbrook (100), Neuqua Valley (85.5), Oswego (81.5), Moline (69), East Moline United (68) and Oswego East (63).
Plainfield North had six qualifiers, led by regional champs Aidan Durell (126) and Jack Nowicki (215). Bolingbrook and Neuqua Valley each had five qualfiers, with Bolingbrook’s Julian Medina (106) winning a regional title. Moline, Oswego and Oswego East with three apiece, with Oswego getting titles from Aiden Ortiz (138) and Dillon Griffin (144), and East Moline United had two sectional qualifiers.

NORMAL COMMUNITY
No. 21 Edwardsville tallied 242.5 team points and won its 14th consecutive team regional title, and its 23rd overall in Normal on Saturday, thanks to five individual champions and 12 total sectional qualifiers scoring points.
Normal Community (165) finished second, followed by Belleville East (161.5), Quincy (140), Alton (60) Collinsville (60), Belleville West (50) and O’Fallon (49).
Edwardsville coach Eric Pretto got individual titles from Michael McNamara (106), Timothy Swaim (120), Bryson Nuttall (126), Ryan Richie (138), and Roman Janek (215), seconds from Chace Matheny (113), Ian Trauernicht (150), George Ostrom (175) and Simon Schulte (28-8), and thirds from Xander Humphrey (138), Kenneth Jamison (165) and Braylon Hill-Lomax (285).
Second-place Normal Community had nine sectional qualifiers, led by individual champion Ethan Cavallo (132). Belleville East advanced seven wrestlers, led by a quartet of champs in Jackson Schadegg (113), Myles Greenfield (175), Killian Rauch (190) and Jonathan Rulo (285).
Regional champ Brody Baker (150) will lead a group of seven Quincy wrestlers to the sectional meet, while Alton’s Jacob Sutphin (138) and Brayden Drew (165) won regional titles to advance. Collinsville had two sectional qualifiers in regional champ Anthony Brown (157) and second-placer Jordan Thigpen (126), while Belleville West had one sectional qualifier in third-placer Cooper Boron (126).

MINOOKA
No. 1 Joliet Catholic Academy won its sixth regional title for coach Ryan Cumbee, posting 254 points and advancing 13 wrestlers to next week’s individual sectional, including seven regional champions.
Winning titles for the Hilltoppers were Kane Robles (106), Colton Schultz (113), Finn McDermott (120), Lukas Foster (126), Jason Hampton (132), Adante Washington (138), Matthew Laird (144). Cumbee also got seconds from sectional qualifiers Dawson Mack (150), Nolan Vogel (157), Vince Skedel (175) and Ryker Czubak (215), and thirds from qualifiers Aurelio Munoz (165) and Daniel Dalach (285).
No. 14 Lockport (167) placed second, followed by host No. 18 Minooka (164) No. 19 Joliet West (125.5) Plainfield South (82), Joliet Central (56), Plainfield Central (34.5) and Romeoville (14).
Lockport had seven sectional qualifiers, led by regional champions Justin Wardlow (157) and Chris Miller (175). Minooka advanced nine, including champions Kaden Meyer (165) and Robbie Murphy (285). Joliet West regional champion Coehn Weber (150) will lead a crew of seven to the sectional, and Plainfield South’s three qualifiers include a pair of regional champs in Chase Pierceall (190) and Mason Bucon (215).
Joliet Central had two sectional qualifiers and Plainfield Central had one.
