DUKANE CONFERENCE

St. Charles East won the DuKane Conference with 281.5 points.

“I am proud of the effort the boys put in over the weekend,” Saints coach Jason Potter said. “We have some work to do before regionals but I am excited for the next challenge. This was the fourth conference championship in a row for our program. Many people thought this was going to be a rebuilding year for the Saints and this title proves we are a strong program from top to bottom.”

Glenbard North (250.5) took second and Wheaton North (208.5) was third, followed by Batavia (194), Wheaton Warrenville South (119.5), Lake Park (89.5), Geneva (74.5) and host St. Charles North (39).

1st place: St. Charles East (281.5 points)

Dom Munaretto (120), Gavin Woodmancy (138), Logan Tatar (144) and Anthony Gutierrez (165) were among the four champions for the Saints. Liam Aye (126), Ryan McGovern (157), Rocco Lobrillo (190), Cooper Murray (215) and Matt Medina (285) took second. Declan Sons (113), Isaac Lenard (150) and Abraham Leidig (175) placed third, Nate Butcher (106) took fourth and Payton Lee (132) was fifth.

2nd place; Glenbard North (250.5 points)

The Panthers earned three titles and three second-place finishes. Vannak Khiev (106), Kalani Khiev (126) and Julian Holland (190) took home titles and Joseph Fitak (175), Angelo Gatses (144) and Treshon Williams (150) took second. Isaac Velasco (120), Trey Thompson (132), Rylan Kradle (157), Erik Esquivel (165) and Tyler Hvorick (215) took third and Ryan Makhlouf (113), Richard Morales (138) and Dylan Hendee (285) took fifth.

3rd place; Wheaton North (208.5 points)

Ryan Rosch (150) and Thomas Fulton (157) won conference titles to pace the Falcons and Rocco Maciellaio (120) and Julian Flores (165) both took second. Danny Hyde (106), Jacob Veltri (138) and Andrew Langas (144) took third, Lewis Vanderschoot (175), Milo Saenz (190), Nick Tortoriello (215) and Carl Givens (285) placed fourth, Caden Cahill (126) took fifth and Luke Edwards (113) and Elliot Conway (132) placed sixth.

Batavia was home to four other champions as Kai Enos (113), Jack Duraski (132), Jack Brown (175) and Asher Sheldon (215) all won conference titles. Joining them at the top of the award stand was Geneva’s Joe Pettit (285).

Wheaton Warrenville South’s Mason Monce had three pins in 2:47 as the wrestler with the most pins in the least time. Batavia’s Colin Peyton had two tech Fs in 7:18 for the most tech Fs in the least time. St. Charles East’s Don Munaretto and Glenbard North’s Julian Holland and Vannak Khiev tied for the most team points with 26. St. Charles East’s Declan Sons had the most single match points with 24. Wheaton North’s Andrew Langas had the most total match points with 51. The largest seed-place difference during the competition was delivered by St. Charles North’s Brogan Sons who placed fourth as the 7th seed at 144 pounds.

DUPAGE VALLEY CONFERENCE

By the slimmest of margins, DeKalb got past runner-up Naperville Central, 290.5 to 290, to win this year’s DVC.

Naperville North was third with 247.5 points, followed by Neuqua Valley (104.5), Waubonsie Valley (80.5) and Metea Valley (50).

1st place: DeKalb (290.5 points)

Leading the Barbs to victory were champions Jaden Bradley (106), Michael Hodge (144), Hudson Ikens (150), Cam Matthews (157) and Sean Kolkebeck (165). Placing second for the Barbs were Ayden Shuey (132), Elvis Mora (175), Nicholas Waddle (215) and Jeremiah Pineira (285). Taking third for the Barbs were Julian Hartwig (113), Owen Burgess (120), Tyler Daub (126), Alan Izaguirre (138) and Erick Rivas (190).

2nd place: Naperville Central (290 points)

The Redhawks produced five champions: Jacob Cochran (126), Vince Bern (132), Henry Rydwelski (175), Paul Peradotti (190) and William Erbeck (285). Taking second place for the Redhawks were Dalton Meluch (106), Jack Schwartz (113), Jake Moore (120), Stavros Gerousis (138) and Nicolas Olvera (165). In addition, Austin Schiltz (144) and CJ Bierman (150) placed third and Yusuf Sikander (157) and Nate Sadowski (215) took fourth.

CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Lane Tech won the Chicago Public Schools dual team championship on Saturday at Marie Sklodowska Curie Metropolitan High School in Chicago.

Lane Tech defeated Sarah Goode STEM, 69-12, in the quarterfinals to get started. The Champions followed with a 76-6 win over Curie before they doubled up Taft in the title dual bout, 50-25.

Taft opened with a 64-18 victory over Crane before defeating Ag Science, 58-21, to advance to the finals.

AG Science rebounded to beat Curie, 46-36 in the third-place match.

Jeremiah Arroyo-McMullan (106), Alex Valentin (132), Vermaat VanderBrug (144) and Adrian Meza (215/285) all won their three matches to lead Lane Tech.

Bernardo Roque (113), Angel Rivera (126) and Evan Jocic (215) went undefeated on the day to lead Taft.

Maurice Bush (144) and Marquel Wilson (175) went 3-0 to lead Ag Science to third place.

Ag Science’s Marquel Wilson had three pins in 2:54 as the wrestler with the most pins in the least time. Taft’s Bernardo Roque had two tech Fs in 5:51 for the most tech falls in the least time. Ag Science’s Marquel Wilson and Maurice Bush tied Lane Tech’s Adrian Meza for the most team points with 18. Lane Tech’s Nasser Hammouche had the most single-match points with 27. Hammouche also had the most total match points with 44.

Roosevelt and Perspectives also competed and tied for eighth place with Sarah Goode STEM and Crane.

CHICAGOLAND CHRISTIAN CONFERENCE

Marian Central Catholic won the Chicagoland Christian Conference meet with 225.5 points.

Wheaton Academy (188.5) took second, Hope Academy (163) was third and followed by Bishop McNamara (111), Harvest Christian Academy (21.5) and St. Edward (10). Alden-Hebron, Intrinsic Downtown, Northridge Prep, Schaumburg Christian and Universal also competed.

1st place: Marian Central Catholic (225.5 points)

Marian produced seven champions including Austin Hagevold (113), Brayden Teunissen (120), Nick Marchese (126), Andrew Alvarado (138), Vance Williams (150), Jimmy Mastny (190) and Dan French (215). Diego Martinez (106), Connor Cassels (157) and Kaleb Eckman (285) took second. Zach Wheadon (113), Zane Mochocki (132), Logan Juelabowiscz (150) and Josh Gawronski (165) were fourth.

2nd place: Wheaton Academy (188.5 points)

Lincoln Hoger (132) and Chasen Kazmierczak (157) won titles to lead the Warriors. Oscar Smith (126), Noah Camiola (150), Tyler Jones (165), Ian Tanacea (175) and Jeremy Johanik (215) each placed second.
