2026 AARON DUDLEY MEMORIAL GIRLS INVITE

Despite having only one individual champion, Plainfield South used its depth to secure the 26-team 2026 Aaron Dudley Memorial Girls Invite at Oswego East. The Cougars edged Wheaton Warrenville South 158-156.5 for the team crown. The squads were followed by Downers Grove North (143.5) in third, Berwyn-Cicero Morton (127) in fourth and Aurora Metea Valley (119) in fifth.

“This tournament was one of my favorites as a coach, not for the number of girls we put on top of the podium, but for the resilience and grit we saw from our girls on the backsides of brackets,” Cougars coach Tom Redmon said. “So many important advancement points in the consolations really powered our win on Saturday after a very tight team race with an incredible Wheaton-Warrenville South squad.”

1st: Plainfield South 158

Layla Spann brought home the crown in the 170 weight class for the Cougars’ lone individual champion. Amie Fuentes (100), Kayla Ochotorena (115) and Kimyra Patrick (190) placed third in their classes. Three other girls finished fifth for the Cougars: Yuliana Manrique (125), Zola Estes (140) and Sammie Ntone (235).

“A lot of girls could’ve hung their heads after some disappointing losses, but were able to pick themselves up and put the team first to make sure we finished the day in the best position possible,” Redmon said. “As a coach, I couldn’t be more proud of that kind of performance at this stage of the season — just a great day all around.”

2nd: Wheaton Warrenville South 156.5
