Mike Greenfield

Mike Greenfield was a two time Illinois High School Association state champion for Belleville Althoff Catholic High School in 1994 and 1995. Before his graduation from Althoff in 1995, Mike was also a four time regional and sectional champion.
Mike went on to attend and wrestle at Central Michigan University where he saw continued success. While at Central Michigan, Mike was a three time MAC conference champion and two time Division I All-American for the Chippewas.
Mike’s wrestling coaching career began at Central Michigan where he served as an assistant coach from 2000 to 2001.From Central Michigan, Mike moved on to coach at the University of Nebraska where he served as an assistant coach and later head assistant coach. While at Nebraska, Mike helped the team win its first ever Big 12 title and three top five finishes in the NCAA Championships. During his college coaching career, Mike recruited and coached 26 Division I All-Americans and 4 NCAA individual champions. Among these athletes were also 2 United States Olympians, including 2012 Olympic Champion, Jordan Burroughs.
Mike was recently appointed the Illinois USAW Greco-Roman Director and is the current Director of Athletics and Development for the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Youth Foundation in East St. Louis. He is also the head coach for the IKWF Belleville Little Devils Wrestling Club.
