Nathan Martinez

Nathan Martinez started wrestling at 11 years old with the Tomcat Wrestling Club. While in junior high he wrestled and won multiple local and state Folkstyle, Freestyle & Greco-Roman tournaments. He was a 4x IKWF state qualifier and a 3-time finalist winning two state titles. Nathan would also win state titles in both Freestyle & Greco. He was a double winner at the Northern Plains in both Freestyle & Greco.

While in high school he wrestled for IWCOA Hall of Fame coach George Dyche at West Aurora. Nathan graduated in 1999 after a career that saw him win 4 regional titles and 4 sectional titles. He would qualify for the state tournament 4 times placing 3rd twice and winning the IHSA state championship twice.

In 1996 Nathan made the FILA USA Junior World Team in Greco Roman. He was eight times a Fargo double All-American, winning 4 freestyle & 4 Greco Roman titles.

He attended Harper College & Lindenwood University. While at Harper, he was a NJCAA Regional Champ and outstanding wrestler. In 2001 he was an NJCAA runner-up while the Harper Hawks were winning the team title. While at Lindenwood in 2003 he won titles at the Lindenwood Open and at the Pete Willson.

After college Nathan assisted his father Jose at the Martinez Fox Valley Elite Club from 2006-2016. In 2017 he would win the USA Wrestling “Veteran’s” division national championship. He is currently in his second year of coaching at Neuqua Valley High School and in his second year as head coach and owner of Nate’s Wrestling Club (nWo).
