Rob Eiter

St. Viator

 

Rob Eiter began his career at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights where he became a State Qualifier at 105 lbs.

Even though his size did not allow Rob to wrestle collegiately for his alma mater, Arizona State University, he did wrestle during his college days in Open and Free Style Tournaments representing the Sun Kist Club of Tucson.

As he progressed Rob began to excel as a Free Style wrestler. He wrestled in the World Cup and placed 4th and 2nd two separate times.  He was a 1992 alternate on the Olympic Wrestling Team; and he placed 9th and 7th in the World Championships. He was a ten (10) time place winner in the USA Open with 5 titles; 3rd in the USA Open Grand Prix; 2nd and 3rd in Espoirs; 4th in the Medved Tournament; was Champion at a Sun Kist Open; placed 1st at the Canada Cup; was 1st two separate times at the World Team Trials, and he placed at many other tournaments.  Rob was an 8th place finisher at 105.5 lbs. at the Olympic Championships for the United States in 1996.

For several years Rob was an assistant coach at Clarion State and is now its Number 1 Assistant Coach.

Rob is also a St. Viator Hall of Famer.
