Willow Brook

Chuck Rossetti got his start in the sport of wrestling at the age of eleven in the park district program in Northfield. As a freshman at Loyola Academy, he won the Catholic League Championship. He spent his next three years in high school at New Trier West and wrestled varsity. He was captain and most valuable wrestler and became the first wrestler from New Trier West to qualify for the state meet. In 1969 he won the United State Wrestling Federation National Championship in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman.

Chuck wrestled in college at Northern Illinois University. He was a four year starter and captain and most valuable wrestler. He placed fourth in the Midlands his sophomore year.

After college, Chuck was an assistant at Loyola Academy for one year and then became the head coach. After two years of being the head coach at New Trier West he became the head coach at Willowbrook. During his twenty-one years at Willowbrook, he had over 300 career wins. He coached 38 state qualifiers. Willowbrook’s teams won five conference titles in a row, three regional championships, and one sectional crown. The 1999 team qualified for the dual team state tournament and finished 26-1.

In 1999 Chuck was selected as Coach of the Year by the I.W.C.O.A. He retired from coaching at the end of the 2000 season.
