Tilden Tech

Fred is from Tilden Tech High School, where he wrestled for Hall of Famer Bob Hicks. He was a State Qualifier and Won State Titles in 1949 and in 1950. He is in the Tilden Tech Hall of Fame for his achievements.

His Collegiate Days were at Northwestern University, where after winning a letter in his freshman year, his career was curtailed by an injury.

After graduation, he entered the United States Military and served in the South Pacific. Wrestling was not on the agenda, but he ‘did make the All­ Pacific Softball Team in 1955.

Following Military Service, he went into Corporate Business, where after numerous successful business ventures, he is now President and principle shareholder of Cameron General Corporation (Holding Company) with subsidiaries numbering 10 companies.

He is still involved, serving on numerous business boards, plus he is well known for serving on directorships for Boys and Girls clubs and Scholarship committees, particularly the Hicks-Harvey at Tilden Tech and The Wild Cat Wrestling Club of Northwestern University.

The Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association named him a Friend in 1994.

Following military service, he went into corporate insurance and reinsurance business, where after several successful business ventures, he has served for more than 35 years as the president and principle shareholder of Cameron General Corporation (Holding Company), with numerous subsidiaries in the U.S.A. and abroad.

He is still involved, serving on several business boards, plus he is well known for contributing to and serving as a director for boys and girls clubs and scholarship funds, namely The Hicks-Harvey Memorial and The Wild Cat Wrestling Club of Northwestern University.

The Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association named him a Friend in 1994.
