Morton

Greg Prichard has been Morton High School’s Administrative Assistant/Athletic Director since 1999. He has been with Morton High School since 1987 teaching Spanish and coaching football, golf, and wrestling. Prior to coming to Morton, Greg taught Spanish and Physical Education while coaching football and wrestling at Neligh-Oakdale High School in Neligh, Nebraska.

At Morton, Greg was the head wrestling coach from 1987-00 where the team experienced much success winning over 160 duals. Prior to his arrival at Morton, there were only 6 state qualifiers in school history Greg was fortunate to have coached 36 state qualifiers, including 11 state placers, 3 State Champions, 2 runner-ups, 4 high school All-Americans, one National High School Champion and one NCAA Div 1 All-American. His team in 1996 was undefeated going into the Dual Team Sectional which was to be held at Providence Catholic High School.

Greg still chairs the Chuck Murdoch Central Illinois All-Area Wrestling Committee that recognizes outstanding wrestlers from central Illinois. Greg was also a member of the IHSA AdHoc committee that worked on the development of the IHSA weight control program.

Greg was named Outstanding Athletic Director for his division in 2004 and 2015 by the IADA.

Greg has been married to his wife Lori for 34 years, who also teaches at Morton High School and has two sons Josh and Eric. Josh is currently the head wrestling coach for Morton High School.
