Polo

Jim Busser was born and raised in Polo Illinois. He and brothers Bob and Paul competed on the Varsity Wrestling Team at Polo High School. Jim was a Mid Northern Conference Champion, an IHSA Regional Champion, a sectional qualifier and Captain of the team his senior year. Jim also played football for Polo HS all 4 years.

Jim has made contributions to the sport of wrestling in many ways. He was instrumental in starting the first IKWF program for Polo youth and has coached the Polo Junior high program for many years. Many of Jim’s young wrestlers have gone on to very successful high schools wrestling careers and some have won state medals.

Where Jim has had the most impact, is on the mat as a wrestling official. Jim has been a Certified Official for 26 years. He has officiated numerous IHSA Regional and IHSA Sectional Tournaments. Jim has been an IHSA State Final Official 11 Times, worked 5 individual and 6 Dual Team State finals

In addition, Jim has officiated at the IKWF State Championships 7 times the Al Dvorak Memorial Tournament 7 times and, the AAU Middle School National Duals in Des Moines, IA 8 times.

Jim is the owner of Busser Builders in Polo, Illinois. His family includes his children Jason of Polo, Dylon who recently graduated from UIC with a degree in Biology, Katlyn who is attending Indiana University and Victoria who is a 5th Grade student at Polo Elementary School. Jim would like to sincerely thank his family and friends who have shown so much support throughout his life and career.
