Lisle

John Ruettiger becomes the fourth Ruettiger brother to be inducted into the IWCOA Hall of Fame. He was a 1975 graduate of Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox. He was a state qualifier as a senior and the team MVP and captain. He had a career record of 98-11. He wrestled in college a Joliet Junior College and the University of Nebraska. At Joliet, he was a conference champ, MVP and team captain. At Nebraska, he was a two-year starter and then served as a graduate assistant and aided in recruiting for the Cornhuskers.

In 1983 John became the Head Wrestling Coach at Lisle High School. While at Lisle he had compiled a dual meet record of 298-130-4: He has had 52 state qualifiers, 30 state place winners and seven state champions. His teams have won five regional crowns and two conference titles. In 1983 his Lisle team won the Ruettiger Cup.

John has been named Suburban Graphic Coach of the Year and has been nominated by the IWCOA as Coach of the Year three times.
