Kris Kamp started his wrestling career on the first wrestling team at Calvary Baptist Academy in Normal Illinois. He transferred to Eureka High School where he wrestled for IWCOA Hall of Fame Coach, Ed Steinbeck. Kamp was a 2 year letter winner in Wrestling, Football and Track.
Kris has been an IHSA wrestling official since 1994. During his 21 years, he has officiated 17 IHSA Regionals and 14 Sectionals. He has worked five Individual State Tournaments and five Dual Team State Tournaments. Kris was voted the IWCOA Official of the Year in 2011.
Kris has officiated numerous IESA, IKWF and IWCOA Fresh/Soph series Regionals, Sectionals and State Finals. He has also worked the Midwest Summer National Tournament, Middle School National Duals and the Illinois/Indiana Classic Duals.
Kris has been privileged to be a part of the “Brotherhood” of wrestling officials along with all of the wrestling community.
Kris currently works as an Account Manager for a Distribution Company in Bloomington, Illinois.
He lives on the family farm outside of Deer Creek, Illinois. His son, Coady is a student at the University of Illinois and is in the Illinois Air National Guard at the 126th Air Refueling Wing, Belleville, Illinois. Kris enjoys his Family & Friends, along with Outdoor Activities, Auctions, Sports and Volunteering for several different Organizations.
