Mark Bybee

Mark Bybee was the 1994 145 pound IHSA State Champion for St. Laurence High School and Head Coach Tom Gauger. Bybee was a three-time All-State wrestler including finishing as the state finalist as a freshman 103 pounder in 1991. He was the third (and one of 12 ever in 75 years) four-time Chicago Catholic League Champions for the Vikings. His career record was an impressive 160-14.

As a three-sport athlete during his high school years, Bybee also lettered in football and cross-country.

Bybee was a member of the 1992 Junior World team in Greco – Roman and a three-time USA Wrestling Junior National All American.

Matriculating to Northwestern University and wrestling for Head Coach Tim Cysewski, Bybee with a career record of 97-25, was an NCAA All American, a Big Ten Champion and a three-time Big Ten finalist.
