Chicago Bowen

Norman began his wrestling at Chicago Bowen High School, he was a two-time City Champion, and won the IHSA State Championship in 1938 and 1939.

In 1940, he attended the University of Illinois where he won two Big 10 Titles and placed second among competitors. In 1942, he enlisted in the Marines for World War II and returned to the University in 1945.

Norman won his second title in 1946 and placed second in the NCAA. He placed second in 1947, but unfortunately broke his shoulder and had to withdraw from the NCAA.

Norman served 12 years in the Marines and retired as a Major. He later went into Private Business.
