Leroy

Randy is from Rockford, where he was a football player. He attended college at Illinois Wesleyan, where he played football.

His teaching and coaching career began at LeRoy where he stayed from 1964-1967. He then moved on to Rockford and to Mahomet from 1967 to 1971 and then back to LeRoy where he coached wrestling for the next 23 years, retiring from that sport in 1991.

In his 23 years at LeRoy, always in the Nahomet-Seymour Regional, his teams won 396 duals and lost only 80. Three years his teams went undefeated and 6 times they only lost 1 dual. He qualified 13 boys to the State Finals, with 4 of them being place winners 1 champion. His teams won 1 Regional and 6 Conference Championships.

Randy has been and still is a major factor in Wrestling in the LeRoy area. He is still active in community projects that are improving the recreational facilities in the area.
