Tim is from Glenbrook South High School, where he placed 4th in the State as a Junior and as a Senior he was the State Champion at 119. He continued wrestling into the Summer, where as a member of the Illinois Junior National Team he became the National Greco Roman Champion and Runner-up in Free Style.

His collegiate days were spent at the University of Iowa, where he was a three time Big 10 Place winner and in his Senior year he placed third in the NCAA Division One Nationals. He was also the Co-Captain of that Championship Team.

Following graduation from college, he became and assistant coach of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club and continued to compete as an individual.

His exploits in wrestling as an individual brought him:

* Three Placing in the AAU Free Style and as Championship with being named Outstanding Wrestler

* Third in the AAU Greco Roman

* Second and a Championship on two different World Cup Teams in Free Style at Toledo

* Three straight Championships in the Senior Open Free Style, which was the beginning of the Federation

* His last Championship also netted him the Outstanding Wrestler Award

* 2 Placing in the Midlands and Five Championships

* He is Fourth in Career Victories in the Midlands with 36

* He has made the Tbliski Russia Trip Twice

* He was a World Team Member in 1977 Free Style to Mexico City

His coaching career besides the assistantship of the Hawkeye club, have been Assistant Wrestling Coach at Northwestern University for 10 years and presently finishing his Second Year there at the Head Coach, where in his first year his team finished 4th in the NCAA’s with 4 All Americans.

He coached the 1985 Free Style Espier Team (20 and under to the World Cup in Colorado and in 1987 he Coached the same type team to the World Cup of Newfoundland.

He also coached the US National Team in 1985 at the America’s Cup in Panama and the National Team to the National Sport Festival in Houston in 1986.

He was the Assistant Coach of the US Team to the World Cup in Toledo in 1990.

He was the Head Coach of the Blue Squad at the 1991 All Star Meet. His team was the overall winner. Inducted into Midlands Hall of Fame in 1992.
