Harry McGinnis
Triton College

A native of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Harry McGinnis completed his 17th year as head coach at Triton College in 2006. A four-year letterman for Concordia High School, his collegiate career took place at Concordia University in River Forest, Ill. While there, he was a four-time N.A.I.A. national qualifier and was inducted into Concordia University Hall of Fame in October 2003. After completing his undergraduate degree, McGinnis was the head coach at Luther North (1978-80) and Holy Cross (1980- 87) high schools. During that time, he coached one state qualifier,
hosted and coached culture exchange teams versus New Zealand, Germany, and Japan, and was an assistant coach with the 1996 Illinois Junior National Greco team. Also during this time, McGinnis completed his master's degree in exercise physiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

In 1989, McGinnis became the head coach at Triton College. During his tenure, he has produced 101 national
qualifiers, 27 All-Americans, 77 Academic All-Americans, and had four of his All-Americans participate on the NJCAA national team that competed in Austria. His 1997 team was crowned
NJCAA Division III National Champions, and he was named the NJCAA National Coach of the Year. The 2003 team was named the NJCAA Coaches Association All-Academic team with a combined 3.28 GPA. McGinnis was named the Midwest Region's Coach of the Year in 1998 and inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame as a coach in 2002. In March of 2004 he received the Bob Bubb Award for Coaching Excellence from the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Active in the NJCAA Coaches Association, McGinnis has served as secretary/treasurer from 2001-2003, Midwest Region representative since 1994, Hall of Fame Committee member since 1995 and has served as chairman of the committee since 2002. Harry and his wife, Linda, live in Maywood with their two children, Hannah (10) and Jonah (8). 2006 I.W.C.O.A. Hall of Fame Inductees
