Kirk Trost

Kirk Trost wrestled for Lincoln Way High School where he was a 3 time State Qualifier - placing 2nd in 1980 and 3rd in 1981. He was the IWCOA Scholastic Award Winner in 1981.

His Collegiage Career was at Michigan University where he placed 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st in the Big l 0 and placed 2nd and became an NCAA Champion in 1986.

Kirk placed 2nd and 6th in the Midlands; 3rd in the Sunshine Open; was a 3 time Champion of the Sunkist Open; he placed eight (8) times in the USA Open in Free Style, including 4 runners-up.  He placed 6th in the 1987 Greco Open and was an alternate to the 1988 Olympics, he placed 3rd in 1992 Trials and 5th in 1996 Trials.  He was a World Cup Champion in 1987 and took the Bronze Medal in the Tokyo World Championships in 1990.  He also placed 5th in the World. He won the Gold at the Goodwill Games.

He is presently in his 12th year as an assistant coach at Michigan University.
