Ken is from East Leyden High school where he wrestled for Chuck Farina, himself a Hall of Famer. While at East Leyden Ken became a 2 time State Champion. His Collegiate Wrestling was at Wayne State University in Wayne, Nebraska. Ken became a standout athlete at this school; he lettered in Football all 4 years, but it was in Wrestling that he had his greatest achievements. Besides being undefeated in dual meets, winning various tournaments, he won the NAIA National Championship in 1970; Placed Second in 1971; won the Championship again in 1972 and in 1973. The Omaha World Herald named Ken as its Nebraska College Athlete of the Year in 1972.
The NAIA named him the Outstanding Wrestler in 1973.
After officiating for a number of years, Ken who is a member of the Wayne Police department, spends his time with the youth groups in this city.
