Class of 2002
As a wrestler at Reavis High School from 1964-68, David Brost served as team captain and was a state qualifier. He attended and wrestled for Western Illinois University. David coached wrestling at Orland Junior High School and Jerling Junior High from 1972-83. He has also served an assistant coach at Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High School. He was the head coach at Crete-Monee High School from 1991-92.
David was an IHSA wrestling official for 30 years and has worked twenty-seven regional and twenty-two sectional meets. He has officiated at the Individual and Dual Team State Finals for nine years. He has also volunteered at the Individual State Finals in Champaign for 21 years and has also served on the IHSA Advisory Committee.
David has been nominated at Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association “Official of the Year” and “Administrator of the Year” several times. He has also received this organization’s “Friend of Wrestling” award. David is currently the Athletic Director at Lincoln-Way East High School,
