Jarrett began his career at Joliet West High School under the direction of Hall of famer Ray Klootwyk, where he won a .state Championship. Mr. Hubbard entered Michigan University where he won many achievements, most notably: Three Big 10 Championships and 1 Runner-up; He placed 4th in the NCAA Division I as a Freshman; Was a Runner-up as a Sophomore and as a Junior and as a Senior he Won National Collegiate Titles. For these achievements; the Wrestling Team elected him Captain and the Michigan Student Body named him the Most Valuable Athlete on campus in both his Junior and Senior Years. A final culminating Award was his selection to the Top Five Student-Athletes. He was the first wrestler to be named by the NCAA to this honor. This honor is based on athletic ability, scholastic it achievement, leadership and loyalty. While at Michigan, Jarrett compiled a record of 77 wins 8 losses and 1 tie and in doing so established 12 school records. He earned a B average in school, was a member of Spinx, the Junior Ho nor Society and Michigaurna, the Senior Honorary Society as well as Omega ‘”Psi Phi.
